After Papa died, he moved us out of the house on Church Street and into the house on Jones Hill that he bought from Mr. Jeter. He had lived in that house while Ruby was in college. They lived there for about two years after she finished school and then we swapped houses. The one thing that I remember most about my uncle was his loyalty to our family. He would often have to fuss at us because we stayed in trouble, but he never failed to come to our aid to get us out. On November 7, 1976, our dear uncle passed away. Our loss was heaven's gain.
